Our growing manufacturing community, as well as our many medical professionals and our health care infrastructure make Montrose and Delta one of the finest small communities around.
The Montrose and Delta areas are loaded with fun in every direction, accessible, and centrally located no matter what your interest. In the winter you can enjoy snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and the Cerro Summit Winter Recreation Area, which is a 30-minute drive from Montrose. Telluride, Crested Butte and Powderhorn are the three closest downhill ski/snowboard resorts. The area also hosts monthly SASS and USPSA shooting matches and recreational shooting.
Locals and tourists alike enjoy the summer opportunities to hike, mountain bike, river raft, take part in BMX races, and enjoy the services offered by the Recreation District, including our nationally ranked skate park. Other activities include horseback riding, camping, tennis, fishing, boating, water and jet skiing, 4X4 and off-roading, and golf.
Annual Events include hot air balloon events , the County Fair and Rodeo, Great American Summer Salute, Olathe Sweet Sweet Corn Festival, Cherry Days, Deltarado Days, Pow Wow and Best of the West Food Fest. The city parks are beautiful no matter what time of year you enjoy them.
